Le Vignoble and Plymouth Boat Trips are teaming up again to offer the ultimate seafood dining and wine tasting experiences. On Saturday 8th June and Saturday 14th September, passengers can depart from Royal William Yard Marina on an exclusive fishing trip, followed by cook your catch, with English wine pairing at Le Vignoble, Royal William Yard.
Ben Squire, fisherman and owner of Plymouth Boat Trips said: ‘Royal William Yard Marina is such a great place to access the wonderful fishing grounds of Plymouth Sound. We love to join forces with Le Vignoble to present the local catch, at its best, cooked and prepared with some cracking English wines.’
Award winning, independent, Le Vignoble, is a hybrid wine business, in Royal William Yard, offering elements of lounge, retail and education. Owner, Yannick Loué, said: ‘We’re really looking forward to offering this fantastic experience on two occasions this year. We’re located right next to the water and not far from some award-winning vineyards, so this will be another perfect showcase of both water and land!’

The prepared catch will be served with salad and potatoes to complete the freshest of locally sourced meals. Ben’s knowledge of local waters and Yannick’s expertise in wine and gastronomy, mean a seafood feast for the senses!

Plymouth Boat Trips Ltd, operator of the Cremyll Ferry is introducing fare rises, from Monday 17th September 2018, taking the price of an adult single ticket from £1.50 to £2, child single tickets and bikes will go from 75 pence to £1. Adult concession tickets will go from 75 pence to £1 and child concession tickets from 37.5 pence to 50 pence.
Owner Ben Squire said, ‘Changes to our pricing structure come as part of the company’s commitment to delivering the highest levels of service, with ongoing improvements.’
Since taking over the Cremyll Ferry operation, Plymouth Boat Trips has invested significantly to increase the fleet on this service, bringing in new, larger capacity vessels, modernising existing vessels and improving comfort and safety levels on board. Major improvement works have also been undertaken on the landing quays on both sides of the river.
The Cremyll Ferry is operating at the highest levels of efficiency, with increased crossings and newly trained staff to deliver a frequent and reliable service to customers.
Mr. Squire went on to say: ‘We are very proud to be delivering tangible improvements that mean a more efficient and safer Cremyll Ferry to our customers. Despite significant increases in our running costs through inflation and higher fuel prices, the changes being introduced are the first increase to fares in more than ten years and will enable us to continue to maintain the highest standards.’
He continued: ‘We have exciting plans ahead in the lead up to 2020, with the introduction of new vessels and continued improvements to operations. Ultimately, our aim will always be to keep fares as low as possible, while enabling us to offer an excellent service and deliver customer safety and satisfaction.’

It might be covered with snow at the moment, but in a few months time the sun will be blazing down on the Royal William Yard’s revamped marina ready for the summer season. Founder of Plymouth Boat Trips, Ben Squire, has just signed a deal to take on the waterfront area and give it a makeover.
From today the harbour will be undergoing a deep clean, with a fresh lick of paint, new signs and sleek, modern lighting.
Ben, 42, has been running Plymouth Boat Trips for nearly half of his life and is buzzing about his next big business venture, Royal William Yard Marina Ltd.

Plymouth Boat Trips has announced an increased weekend timetable for its hugely popular Cremyll Ferry crossing.
From 1st December the additional crossing times will be as follows:
Saturday:
Cremyll 07.30 Stonehouse 07.45
Cremyll 19.00 Stonehouse 19.15
Sunday:
Cremyll 08.30 Stonehouse 19.15
