River Lynher Cruise Information
Experience the delightful scenery, historic landmarks and wonderful wildlife of south east Cornwall, on board our new two-hour cruise, along The River Tamar to the tranquil River Lynher, also known as St Germans River.
Leaving the Barbican, we sail past the famous landmarks of Plymouth Hoe, Royal William Yard and the Royal Naval Dockyard, where we turn off to join the River Lynher.
Look out for HMS Brecon at Jupiter Point HMS Raleigh, a static training ship providing new recruits with their first taste of life aboard a Royal Naval ship.
Historic Antony House and Trematon Castle can be seen, as you cruise further along this majestic stretch of river.
A peaceful haven for wildlife, several stretches of the picturesque River Lynher are designated as Sites of Special Scientific interest (SSSI’s) due the species found there, including the kingfisher, otter, dipper, avocet, and black-tailed godwit; the triangular club-rush also grows on the banks. Rich in brown trout and Atlantic salmon, the banks of the Lynher are a popular spot for rod and line fishing.
Such a diverse trip, with so much to see, The River Lynher cruise is not to be missed!
Dog Friendly – Dogs are allowed on all our Daytime Cruises & Ferries, but must remain on their leads at all times.
